SPED Classroom Instructional Assistant

This position will work with Special Education (SPED) staff to implement and support student achievement in their IEP goals. This position will also assist in teaching technology skills, and supporting yearbook and physical education to various grade levels.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality in performing assigned tasks.

· Supports Special Education staff and students

· Provides assistance and professional guidance in Special Education classroom instruction

· Ability to work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively to support and implement high-quality intervention in reading, writing, math, and social skills within students’ Individualized Educational Plans (IEP)

· Improves student success in academics or skills through district-approved curriculum to meet student needs comprehensively

· Maintains a knowledge of computers and keyboarding skills

· Assist with elementary P.E. Class

· Assist with Yearbook

· Works effectively as a team member

· Maintains accurate records

· Collaborates with other educational professionals and administration to meet student needs

Dormitory Parent

Optional employment opportunity includes serving as a Dormitory Parent for six foreign exchange students in grades 10-12. Extra duty pay includes $15,000 per year, $800 per month food allowance and free rent including utilities.
