Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Position Overview
Under limited supervision, performs Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Safety job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities include, but not limited to, supply and warehouse functions, Quality inspections, safety program administration and compliance. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas:

  • Serves as a Procurement Specialist for the Company responsible for managing aspects of supply chain project life cycle, including assistance to quality assurance, safety and project management personnel for scope definition, developing detailed plans and project submittal requirements, tracking, managing and communicating project schedule status
  • Responsible for requisitioning material and establishing delivery sequences according to priorities and anticipated availability of material
  • Requires reviewing schedules and determines material required or overdue and locates material 
  • Arranges for transfer of materials to meet schedules. Arranges for repair and assembly of material and its transportation 
  • Performs execution and change order production of supplier purchase orders.
  • Responsible for assisting the Project Management in establishing and managing an effective supply chain management program
  • Communicates supply chain and safety program impacts to the appropriate Project Management and Operations Management personnel
  • Performs inspection and examinations of delivered material to verify the type specified and requirements
  • Computes amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes. Compiles report of quantity and type of material on hand; compiles perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system
  • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
  • Experienced driving a truck with box and flatbed trailers required.

Working Conditions

Work in an office at an indoor manufacturing facility. May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed. 

Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching. 

Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.

Required Experience

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 0 years of relevant experience.
Experience driving a truck with box, flatbed trailers and forklifts.

Required Skills

  • Experience with basic PC skills to include Microsoft software 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Exemplary attention to detail
