System One is actively recruiting for a Shipping Specialist for a contract position located in Fort Worth, TX. The Shipping Specialist plays a vital part of the supply chain process by overseeing the efficient shipment of products around the globe. They are a crucial collaborator to implementing and controlling the efficient and effective flow of goods to meet both the business's and customer's requirements. They utilize their specific shipping experience to continually improve team performance and effectiveness ensuring that targets within the Shipping Department are met. This position will report to the Inventory Manager and will work with other members of the warehouse and other departments throughout the organization. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Processes Capital, Spares, Service, Repair and Transfer orders in the ERP system daily. Responsible for preparing all shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments including export documents, bill of lading, pick list and custom documents. Responsible for Coordinating warranty shipments with Service, Repair Departments and vendor returns. Responsible for arranging transportation for all shipments and securing freight costs as required. Responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping records. Responsible for operating machinery in a safe manner and reporting any equipment maintenance or problems to your immediate supervisor. Responsible for notifying appropriate departments of any discrepancies and/or problems with material. Must be self-motivated and maintain a productive environment by bringing everybody's ideas forward so that everyone will benefit from them as a team. Must be able to work extra hours daily and on weekends as required. Must follow and enforce all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur. Must be able to resolve problems through collaboration and sharing with their teammates. Must be willing to be cross train and to train others. Assist in mentoring and training of other personnel. Assist verifying all inbound/outbound material are compliant with order or Purchase order requirements before packaging or loading. Assist in preparing shipments including boxing, weighing, labelling, and consolidating orders when necessary. Assist in keeping the warehouse clean and orderly. Interface professionally with multiple departments: Sales, Service, Repair, QA, Inspection, Purchasing, Manufacturing & Planning. Work with Sales Department, Project Management and Accounting to resolve shipping issues. Achieve same day order turns and achieve Shipping measurement standards established by the Inventory Manager. Work with Material Handlers to achieve the proper priority of orders to be pulled and packaged for shipment. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of operating systems related to Inventory, Shipping, and Material Handling functions. Operate material handling equipment as required, achieve, and maintain fork truck operator certification and use safe working practices in all activities. Respond to after-hours calls in a timely fashion with all applicable documents, transport arrangements and inventory records. Rotational responsibility. Responsible for following all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures, and programs, including but not limited to the process map, support processes and HSE requirements. Maintain warehouse supplies and submit requisitions to Inventory Manager. Take ownership, organize, and maintain personal, company equipment and work area in a professional manner and attend scheduled HSE training. Maintain applicable vehicle operator licenses as necessary to operate company equipment. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School graduate or GED Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Strong and professional interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner across multiple departments and communication media with changing priorities. Effective time management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers. Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and procedures. Ability to stay updated on changing customer requirements and industry regulations. Proficiency in using relevant software tools and applications including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Oracle, ARAMEX, Rulewave, Allyn a plus. Must be knowledgeable in Shipping and Warehouse practices, pack out practices including but not limited to documentation for international shipments, DOT, LTL, and transport permit regulations. Must be capable of learning to read and understanding production routers and blueprints. Must be capable of working in a non-air-conditioned warehouse environment with PPE. Must be capable of operating company fork trucks and capable of achieving and maintaining certification for such equipment. Willing to collaborate with colleagues with information that they might need to complete their tasks and eliminate roadblocks. Be positive in challenging tasks; work as a team with co-workers to tackle tasks together.
