Wallowa County Grain Growers is offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Agronomy Production Assistant! This is a full-time position with excellent benefits!  General Scope of Position:The agronomy production assistant will assist in dry and liquid fertilizer, chemical, seed, and feed blending for Wallowa County Grain Growers’ Agronomy department. This position will also assist with loading and delivery of products. The preferred candidate will have a class A CDL or the ability to obtain. Facility and equipment maintenance requiring basic mechanical skills will be required daily. Occasionally, this position will be responsible for typical office responsibilities such as answering the phone, utilizing a computer and specialized software system, and delivering excellent customer service.   Responsibilities:Accurately interpret fertilizer, feed, and seed batch sheets to create custom blends.Load company and customer trucks with completed orders and accurate delivery tickets.Conduct maintenance of Wallowa County Grain Growers’ Agronomy equipment and facility and maintain accurate records.Occasionally responsible for the supervision of seasonal production employees.Clean driving record, and class A CDL (or ability to obtain).This position must effectively communicate with the Agronomy Department Manager.Other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned. Skills / Competencies / Requirements:High School diploma or equivalentClass A CDL or ability to obtain.Previous agricultural cooperative or agricultural related experience (preferred).Strong verbal and written communication skills.Professional appearance and positive attitude.Organization SkillsHigh attention to detail to assure accurate inventory tracking and billing.Punctuality and reliability Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.This position often requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies up to 50 pounds assisted.Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check and Motor Vehicle Records check.
