Nurse Manager, Assisted Living & Memory Care

The Nurse Manager assists in the management, coordination, and maintenance of an efficient, productive, and organized Assisted Living nursing department. In the absence of the Director of Resident Care and the ADON, the Nurse Manager shall have administrative authority over and responsibility for the functions and activities of the nursing department. The Nurse Manager will also be responsible for Infection Prevention and Employee Health.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Responsible for working as charge nurse one day a week and as needed.
• Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation of nursing staff.
• Participates in family/resident counseling.
• Assist ADON in completing pre-assessments and Community Based Assessments.
• Routinely audits and monitors clinical documentation and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Administrator, Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing to create annual in-service calendar to include annual CPR certification and provide Orientation for new staff.
• Collaborate with leadership, fellow infection preventionists and medical directors to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan.
• Actively participates in outbreak investigation, follow-up and reporting to appropriate persons and agencies.
• Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that the facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues; understand and comply with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations.
• Performs 2nd Step TST on new hires during first week of employment and provides “Fit testing” in assigned facilities for agency, contract employees or any FV employee.
• Coordinates with HR to track and report compliance on all educational programs assigned to staff through the FV On-line Learning system and those provided via other means.
