Job Summary

  • This position is responsible for performing duties and supervision of radiology procedures and is responsible for the Radiation Safety program for Avera Now clinic. 
  • Reports and coordinates repair of malfunctioning equipment. 
  • Assists in the examination and treatment of patients following established standards and practices as directed by the provider and his/her supervising physician.
  • Efficiently and accurately performs diversified patient care, with an emphasis on population  specific need to include: obtaining patient history, assess/triage patient, measure vital signs and record in EMR; prepare and administer medications, provide wound care, and assists Provider with  procedures. 
  • Performs diagnostic tests including basic X-rays, eye exams, electrocardiograph, cardiac monitor, pulse-oximeter, urine drug screens, and conducts lab tests on facility lab analyzers and point of service kits, draws blood, collects, labels, and processes specimens for send out. 
  • Cross-trained as a Receptionist and greets patients, creates and updates patient and insurance information, verifies and analyzes health insurance benefits, explains payment policies and billing/collections processes, generates charge ticket information, accepts, posts, and balances cash drawer.

Education/Experience/Certification

  • Member in good standing with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiological Technology).
  • BLS/CPR certification is mandatory within 6 months of employment.  Additional certifications specific to department needs may be required throughout employment. 
  • Experience in an urgent care clinic environment preferred. Occupational medicine, emergency, surgical, family practice or internal medicine experience acceptable. 
  • Must be competent in phlebotomy skills, and highly proficient in computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required. 

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-6:00pm, 9:00am-4:00pm; PRN (as needed)
    • Every fourth weekend
    • Occasional holidays

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $23.75 - $36.00 per hour
