Accounts Payable Clerk

Robert Half is actively searching for a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join the team at an innovative company in the Steel Manufacturing industry. The Accounts Payable Clerk will update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, process checks, process expense reports, resolve A/P issues, and match, batch, and code invoices. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Birmingham, Alabama area and will be a long-term contract / temporary position.

Responsibilities

- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

- Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily

- Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs

- Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

- Perform full-cycle A/P

- Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling

- Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

- Execute additional tasks as needed- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
