Meat Clerk/Apprentice Meat Cutter

Position Summary: Wrap Meat, Stock Shelves, Learn to Cut, Trim, or Prepare consumer-sized portions of meat for use or sale in our establishment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

1. Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
2. Cuts and prepares all varieties and cuts of meat while operating tools safely.
3. Sells products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions.
4. Helps to verify and unload meat deliveries from trucks.
5. Maintains, fills, and rotates product in meat cases.
6. Moves meat from coolers to cutting area and returns cut meat to coolers.
7. Trains other associates as needed.
8. Maintains Cal mart's high standards for product guidelines in sanitation, freshness, trimming, and cutting.
9. Cleans equipment.
10. Assists in other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationship:

1. Head Meat Cutter
2. Indirectly reporting to Store Manager

Subordinate Staff (providing direct supervision):

1. None

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math problems.
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions and solve problems.

Work Environment:

• Store Climate can range, averaging 40-50 degrees, freezer and walk-ins low as 20 degrees.
• Moderate to Loud level noise.

• No travel needed

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly stand, bend, twist, kneel, and crouch; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to stand and move for up to 8 hours per day
• Repetitive arm and hand movements
• Hand- Eye Coordination
