Accountant

Ambassador Personnel is seeking an experienced Accountant for our client in the Montgomery, AL area. This is a direct-hire opportunity with an established nonprofit that offers excellent benefits.

The Accountant will support operations by managing daily accounting operations, grants, benefits administration, reporting, internal controls, and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Lead Financial Operations and Financial Compliance
-Lead Financial Planning and Sustainability Efforts
-Manage the Financial Aspects of the Association’s Operations, Grants, and Contracts
-Utilize general cost accounting, reporting, and other related standards following GAAP.
-Administer and Monitor Grants and Related Activities
-Manage Staff Benefits Administration
-Daily use of Sage Intacct for accounting, financial analysis, and reporting while serving as the platform's administrator, including account security, grant budget entries, and budget adjustments.
-Develop and Administer Accounting and Related Policies and Procedures
-Prepare and facilitate annual fiscal and single audits
-Ensure all organization statutory requirements are met, including necessary federal, state, and local tax filings and related activities.

Education and Experience:

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting Required.
-A minimum of five years of related accounting and audit experience is required.
-Grant accounting and compliance required.
-CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
-Nonprofit experience preferred.
-Sage Intacct accounting software preferred.
-Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
