Payroll Clerk

Volt is currently seeking for a Payroll Clerk in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Job Type: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)

• 
  Pre-Process Payroll:
  • Utilize Paylocity payroll software (SLO Brew/Quiky) to process payroll.
  • Enroll employees into CalSaver, submit payments, and update contributions.
  • Calculate and maintain a tips spreadsheet for all locations.
  • Compute monthly commissions for hourly employees.
  • Handle the payroll portion of employee onboarding paperwork.
• 
  Training and Compliance:
  • Assign all necessary trainings to staff to ensure compliance.
  • Add employees to the RBS roster and cross-reference schedules to keep licenses current and updated.
• 
  Timecard Maintenance:
  • Assist in maintaining employee timecards, including making corrections as needed.
• 
  Employee Relations:
  • Work with employees to update W-4 and other payroll-related information.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure timely processing of terminations.
  • Respond to verifications of employment requests.
• 
  Payroll Support:
  • Address payroll-related questions, concerns, and errors promptly.
  • Conduct audits of various aspects of payroll.
• 
  Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the Human Resources department as needed.
  • Manage office supply ordering.
  • Maintain the Vendor Insurance Binder (collect certificates of insurance based on vendor needs for operations and events; ensure requirements are met; follow up on expired certificates).

• Previous experience with Paylocity, Aloha, and 7shifts preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Pay: $22-$25
Schedule: 8 a.m.- 12 p.m.
