At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our team is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist who is willing to support the team and take an active part in making them successful.

Under general supervision, the Safety Specialist will lead and champion various safety programs, employee outreach activities, and safety initiatives. This position requires interface and coordinating with other work groups and departments to encourage participation in the CPCCo safety programs. The Safety Specialist will act as point of contact/coordinator to provide regular and consistent feedback to management and the workforce in safety functional and programmatic areas. Selected individual will advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics, prepare policies and procedures, and oversee the implementation of safety related promotional materials including printed and digital media. Serves as workforce information contact, as appropriate, for the organization, and maintains intra-company safety communications including digital information. Administers site/safety department programs, developing and ensuring proper tracking, posting, and completion, including but not limited to:
* Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
* Employee Zero Accident Councils (EZAC)
* Safety training and Initiatives, including Safety Trained Supervisor Initiative

In addition to the above, the Safety Specialist responsibilities may include:
* Provide technical authority for Occupational Safety (OS) programs as assigned, authoring interpretations and representing CPCCo on company and site committees.
* Develop, review and implement OS Program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and orders from regulating entities.
* Advise, consult, guild and assist individuals and organizations in OS matters.
* Obtain, maintain and apply the necessary skills and knowledge of OS aspects as assigned to diverse work activities such as operations, construction, maintenance, drilling, modification, fabrication, environmental restoration and deactivation and decommissioning.
* Conduct OS field assessments, inspections and walk downs to evaluate conditions and ensure compliance.
* Develop and maintain records, reports and documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements.
* Provide OS oversight to direct and subcontracted work activities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
* Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
* Principal Level Grade 20: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 10 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications
* BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
* Certified Safety Professional
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications.
* Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding atmosphere.
* The ability to lead others in a team oriented, collaborative manner on special projects.

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

* Senior Level Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
* Principal Level Grade 20: $126,025 - $158,875

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
