The Medicine Units specializes in the medical care of an array of patients including, but not limited to, patients with neurological, pulmonary, endocrine, hematologic and cardiac disorders. We also serve as an Epilepsy Center of Excellence as well as provide oncology services including chemotherapy administration. All Medical Units are equipped with telemetry monitoring capability.

Experience with patient assessment and communication, IV therapy including continuous medication infusions, use of central lines and telemetry is preferred. Effective use of computerized medication administration and documentation is required. The Nursing Service department encourages individual and team accountability and shared decision-making while applying current JC standards using Evidenced Based practice.

1. Assesses patient's Biopsychosocial needs
2. Formulates a plan of care based on nursing and healthcare team assessments
3. Provides nursing care to meet patient's needs
4. Evaluates patient status and response to care. Recognizes actual or potential changes in patients' condition and response to treatment, initiating appropriate action and revising the care plan accordingly.
