We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Gardening Specialist to join our team and share in our mission of fostering a love for gardening.
Position Overview: As a Gardening Specialist, you will be the go-to expert for our customers, providing guidance, expertise, and exceptional service in all aspects of gardening. From plant selection and care advice to pest management and landscape design, you will play a vital role in helping our customers achieve their gardening goals and cultivate beautiful outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting the right plants, flowers, and gardening supplies based on their preferences, garden conditions, and landscaping goals.
- Provide expert advice on plant care, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and disease and pest management.
- Design and plan garden layouts, offering recommendations for plant placement, companion planting, and aesthetic appeal.
- Conduct workshops, demonstrations, and educational events to share gardening tips, techniques, and best practices with customers and community members.
- Maintain the health and appearance of plants, flowers, and garden displays within the garden center, ensuring a visually appealing and inspiring environment.
- Stay informed about the latest gardening trends, plant varieties, and sustainable gardening practices to provide up-to-date information and recommendations to customers.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and ensuring accurate pricing and labeling of products.
Qualifications:
- Passion for gardening and a deep knowledge of plants, flowers, and gardening techniques.
- Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with an ability to connect with customers and provide personalized assistance.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, particularly in diagnosing and addressing plant care issues.
- Creativity and an eye for design, with the ability to create aesthetically pleasing garden layouts and displays.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Education: Degree or certification in horticulture, botany, landscape design, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
