Sourcing Manager (Supply Chain)

The Sourcing Manager (Supply Chain) oversees and directs assigned sourcing activities for the business. Working closely with supply chain and operations, this supply chain professional may coordinate, organize and manage all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, inventories and management of raw materials, consumables, parts and services, etc.

• Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
• Maintains alignment with sales and operations to assure proper inventories of materials and supplies.
• Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies.
• Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
• Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
• Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
• Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
• Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
• Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
• Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
• Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
• Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
• Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.
• Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.

• Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• At least three years of experience in a related field required.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
