Server / Waitstaff

Mizu 21 Restaurant in Canton, CT is looking for one server/waitstaff to join our team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and reliable.

Position Summary

Serve food and drinks in a professional manner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Serve two to four tables as determined by management
• Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant's food and beverage preparation
• Sell alcohol and food items
• Presenting the menu and helping customers select food
• Enter and complete customer's orders on computer system, and delivering food to tables
• Interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner; ensure guests' complete satisfaction by exceeding their expectations
• Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
• Setting the tables
• Check identification of guests to consuming alcoholic beverages; refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age
• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy
• Perform other duties as directed

• Basic reading and writing skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively
• Multi-task oriented
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
• Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items

The employee must frequently communicate with expeditors and servers and read orders on tickets. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands.
