Job Title: Hotel Rooms Controller

Job Summary: The Hotel Rooms Controller is responsible for managing all aspects of room inventory and allocation within the hotel. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with various departments to ensure smooth operations. The Rooms Controller plays a crucial role in maximizing room revenue and guest satisfaction by efficiently managing room availability and allocations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Room Inventory Management: Monitor and manage room inventory across all room categories to optimize occupancy and revenue.
  2. Reservation Management: Oversee the reservation system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of reservations, modifications, and cancellations.
  3. Room Allocations: Coordinate room allocations based on reservation requirements, guest preferences, and hotel policies.
  4. Group Bookings: Handle group reservations and room blocks, ensuring proper allocation and coordination with sales and events teams.
  5. Inventory Forecasting: Utilize historical data and market trends to forecast room demand and adjust inventory accordingly.
  6. Rate Management: Work closely with revenue management to set and adjust room rates based on demand and market conditions.
  7. Guest Communication: Communicate effectively with guests regarding room availability, upgrades, and special requests.
  8. Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with housekeeping, front office, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and guest satisfaction.
  9. Reports and Analysis: Prepare and analyze room occupancy reports, revenue forecasts, and other relevant data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  10. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of reservations, room allocations, and billing information.
  11. Training and Development: Train and mentor team members on reservation procedures, room allocation systems, and customer service standards.
  12. Compliance: Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and industry regulations related to room inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry required.
  • Strong understanding of reservation systems and hotel operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, including MS Office and hotel management systems.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
