is immediately seeking a new member to join our team as tooling tech in Lawrenceburg TN:


  1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:

  • The Tooling Specialist or designate will coordinate and assist in the activities of the Engineering (Tooling) Departments. (WP1, FPP)



  1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • This position directly reports to: Engineering Manager (WP1)

Maintenance Manager (FPP)

2.2 This position indirectly reports to: General Manager (WP1, FPP)



  1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:


  • Performing preventative maintenance on all production tools
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair tools/molds in production (both in press and out of press) as required.
  • Coordinate with supplier on all tools either out for repair or tools arriving.
  • Perform any in house tool repair, and where possible to ensure that production, quality and safety levels are maintained.
  • Prioritize tasks to maintain an efficient completion of mold/tooling repair
  • Build tools as required and/or assist with end of arm/hand pieces as required
  • Ability to partner with the maintenance department to provide assistance to issues relating to the tooling/molding process.
  • Recommend and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work in compliance with the Quality and Business Operating Systems and all health and safety and environmental legislation.
  • Completion of any other duties as assigned.

  1. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

4.1 The Tooling Specialist is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003 Worker/Supplied Labour Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Worker Job Descriptions).



  1. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:


  • Must possess a Mold/Tool Maker Certificate, License or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a College level program.

  1. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:


  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in tooling in a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment including a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge, skill and ability as a tooling specialist.



  1. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum training:


  • WHMIS/MSDS
  • Crane Training
  • Lift Truck training
  • Lock-out Training
  • In-House Set-up Training and Process Training, as required
  • Quality, Environmental Health & Safety and other relevant Company Policy awareness
  • New Employee orientation (when required)

  1. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum training:


8.1 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations

8.2 Possess sound decision making skills

8.3 Process in an efficient manner in order to meet with established production schedule

8.4 Communicate resource concerns and escalate problems immediately.

8.5 Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions
