Welder

General Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Above all must be a team player with high level of dedication.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand/walk 10 to 90% of the work day; sit to perform normal office duties for 10 to 90% of the work day, occasional bending, squatting, ascending ladders/stairways, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities:

• Properly maintains all parts and equipment pertaining to specific work duties.
• Operates equipment used in welding operations including welding machine, weld rod, appropriate safety equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Accurately reads prints as required.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Dismantles metal assemblies or cut scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment.
• Climbs ladders or works on scaffolding as required.
• Reports any problems promptly to Supervisor.
• Keeps work area clean by practicing good housekeeping procedures.
• Performs any task, assignment, or project assigned by Supervisor or lead welder.
