POSITION SUMMARY:

The Histotechnician II is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for examination by pathologists, researchers, and other medical professionals. This role involves precision work in histological techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and quality control. Histotechnician's play a vital role in assisting in the diagnosis and research of diseases.

What you will bring to the team
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific/chemistry field, or AS/AA in science or chemistry.
  • Five years of experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory with gross, embedding, cutting, staining.
  • Licensing and Certification: American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Histotechnician (HT) (HTL) Histotechnician certification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of CDPH, CLIA, CAP, and State and Federal laws that apply to the duties of this position in a moderate to high complexity laboratory.
  • Knowledge of histological techniques, staining methods, and laboratory equipment.
