POSITION SUMMARY:

This associate will conduct equipment maintenance with the main focus on being proactive and preventative. Maintenance may include greasing, oiling, mechanical repairs, cleaning, and painting. Planning and scheduling is required. Progress will be documented through PM audits and inspections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

o Perform preventative maintenance functions according to the predetermined schedule. Typical mechanical maintenance required. (Grease, oil check & fill, tightening and adjustments, etc.)

o Perform regular maintenance required based upon work orders established and approved by Department Line Leaders or Supervisors.

o Perform predictive maintenance functions from a predetermined schedule.

o Document results and utilize documentation to recommend corrective action.

o Work with Operators, Department Line Leaders, and Supervisors to determine preventative or predictive maintenance required including determining the criticality and frequency of the task required.

o Maintain required documentation; calendars of tasks, operator check lists, requisition for replacement parts, work orders, and meter readings.

o Maintain inspection data to support OSHA, electrical, EPA and other mandated programs, as assigned.

o Identify and report potential equipment problems.

o Support services of outside contractors who perform work that is outside the capabilities of this position due to license requirements, code, or other reasons.

o Support company initiatives such as 5s, safety program, etc.

o Ability to read maintenance manuals, schematics, drawings and other maintenance literature.

o Self-motivated and able to work independently.

o Perform other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The duties of this job are regularly performed indoors, with occasional work done outdoors. The associate is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch, use bending and twisting motions of arm and wrist movements. The associate is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and good hand/eye coordination.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires adherence to all safety policies and programs. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; hearing protection, safety glasses and steel-toed boots are required at all times. A welding helmet is required for welding. Other specialized safety equipment is required for certain tasks. Flexible scheduling, including weekends or off shifts, may be required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

This position requires two years of training or experience in a factory maintenance department that includes experience in welding, machine troubleshooting, and repair is required. Certification in maintenance designation is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic math skills and direct experience in machine operation are required. Some computer skills are necessary such as Outlook, Excel and Word. Critical skills include: attention to detail, communication skills, initiative, continuous improvement, and adaptability.
