Director of Student Life

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Student Life has responsibilities within student services at the Clarendon Campus and works to respond to student needs. The Director of Student Life reports to the Dean of Students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Formulates and recommends procedures on matters relating to functions supervised.

2. Has direct responsibility in the following services in Student Life:

a. Residence Life

b. Campus Dining

c. Campus Security

d. Student Activities

e. Collaborate with the Dean of Students regarding student discipline

f. Collaborate with the Dean of Student regarding student organizations

3. Assist in recruiting and retention of students.

4. Participates in the preparation and recommendation of budgets for responsible areas. Establishes and maintains budgetary control of areas of responsibility.

5. Assist with preparation of and participates in commencement ceremonies.

6. Develops and implements procedures for providing information to the Dean of Students to keep him/her informed of all aspects of the areas of responsibility.

7. Serve and participate on institutional standing and/or ad hoc committees, as assigned.

8. Support college activities and special events through attendance and/or participation.

9. Comply with all College policies, rules, and regulations.

10. Remain current through a program of professional development.

11. Communicate an accurate image of the College to the public. Be a positive and active representative of Clarendon College. Be available to address impromptu situations involving the College during non-traditional work hours.

12. Reside in College housing.

13. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students and/or the President.

Education:

Bachelors degree preferred

Salary:

$31,000 to $35,000 with 12 month room and board during fall and spring semester.
