Job Title: Maintenance Tech

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

PURPOSE:

Roles and responsibilities include but not limited to trouble shoot and repair hydraulic a mechanical equipment as well as assist with equipment installation and start up. Maintain equipment by performing routine PM activity and inspections.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform equipment safety inspections and schedule corrective action with Maintenance planner.

  • Ensure maintenance repairs are performed correct and professionally in compliance with Austin Powder standards.

  • Proficient with (24v / 120 v ) single phase power and equipment controls.

  • Ability to trouble shoot basic circuits and motor drive controls.

  • Work with Engineering to resolve reoccurring break downs.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

  • Perform light fabrication / carpentry / welding.

  • Perform fire extinguisher inspections

  • Ability to thread and install pipping.

  • Perform Weekly FOD / housekeeping inspections.

  • Ability to work from extended heights.

• Communication/Reporting

  • Attend daily/weekly Maintenance meetings

  • Communicate part inventory concerns to the maintenance planner.

  • Review work order completions and status with Maintenance planner.

  • Document and report equipment deficiencies.

  • Maintain open communication with engineering/production and upper management.

  • Report workorder status to production and provide feedback on progress.

  • Ensure part inventory is being backflushed when they are used, and reordering stock is requested.

• Safety

  • Always remain Safety conscious and follow BOS guidelines.

  • Participate in Safety Evacuation Drills.

  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.

  • Follow PPE / lockout-tagout requirements.

• Personal requirements

  • The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Walk and stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.

  • Be able to lift 50lbs from and squatted position.

  • Ability to work unsupervised.

  • Excellent communication skills.

• Education requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years Maintenance experience preferred.
