RACS is currently seeking a motivated, qualified individual to work in our coverage area of Rockbridge and Bath County, and the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista. RACS will provide training, supervision, and education opportunities specific to the position.

We have been providing services throughout Rockbridge and Bath counties and the cities of Lexington and Buena Vista since 1982.

Position Overview:

The incumbent will work under the direction of the HR Manager. Incumbent will assist with all aspects of recruitment and retention, including new staff orientation, assisting new staff with completing required paperwork, pre-hire records checks and database maintenance. Incumbent will maintain personnel files, complete required monthly database checks for all staff and other basic administrative duties. Additionally, incumbent will be responsible to track and maintain staff training database. This position will interface with both internal and external customers. The incumbent will often be the first point of contact for any staff related concerns, including benefits. Must have the ability to be empathetic while working with diverse personalities and populations. The right candidate will be competent and comfortable with all forms of technology and the knowledge of and the ability to navigate job boards and hiring platforms is a bonus. This position requires someone who will maintain a high level of confidentiality, has highly tuned problem-solving skills, can work independently with minimal direction, and be innovative in thought processes.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in business, human resources, or closely related field, or direct experience as a measurable equivalent; a minimum of two years technical administrative experience required; additional experience in a human resources office setting is preferred.

Background Investigation Requirements:

Probationary Period:

All persons that are newly hired, rehired, transferred, promoted, or demoted into a Rockbridge Area Community Services position must serve a new 6-month probationary period.
