Responsibilities:
- Menu Development:
- Design creative and visually appealing dessert menus tailored to the specific needs and themes of each event.
- Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand their preferences, dietary restrictions, and budgetary constraints.
- Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to continually innovate and elevate the dessert offerings.
2. Production and Execution:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of all pastry and dessert items for events.
- Ensure consistency in quality and presentation, adhering to established standards and recipes.
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies to meet production demands.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of desserts.
3. Team Leadership and Training:
- Lead and inspire a team of pastry cooks and assistants, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Conduct training sessions to ensure consistency in preparation techniques and adherence to food safety standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
4. Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the pastry kitchen.
- Conduct regular inspections and follow-up to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor feedback from clients and guests to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pastry chef, with a focus on high volume production.
- Strong proficiency in dessert creation, including plated desserts, pastries, cakes, and confections.
- Creative flair and a passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
