Position: Engineering/Grid Services Summer Intern

Shift: Mon-Thurs 7:30am-5:30pm

Location: Aledo, TX

FLSA Designation: Full Time - Non-Exempt


The Tri-County Electric Cooperative Engineering/Grid Services Summer Intern is a program that will give current students an opportunity to gain real life skills and experience in a professional environment. We are looking for individuals who want to blaze their own career path and be a part of a growing organization.


Job Description Components of the Program:

  • Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments
  • Develop office and analytic skills needed for career
  • Attend regular departmental meetings covering a variety of areas of the engineering department
  • Assist in the design and construction of new substations
  • Assist in the facilitation of demand response consumer programs
  • Review applications related to demand response programs
  • Assist in data analytics of member and load-related data, interpreting or creating reports for trend evaluation
  • Submit an Organization Evaluation on the student's intern experience during the final week of the internship period
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering college degree program
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Available to work program dates
