Job Title: Electrician
Department: Building Maintenance
Reports To: Building Maintenance Manager
Shift: Monday Friday 7:00am 3:30pm / Days Off: Saturday - Sunday

SUMMARY To perform the duties relating to an electrician. Perform electrical installations, repairs and maintenance of equipment and systems used in buildings and airfields at RIAC airports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
To install, inspect, maintain, alter and repair electric wires/cables (including highvoltage) power appliances, equipment, machinery, overhead circuits,underground conduits and pole lines.
To install, inspect and repair all types of electrical traffic and signaling devices.
To install, maintain and repair electrical equipment including lighting control,public address systems and thermostatically controlled heating and ventilatingunits.
To inspect, clean, oil, and make repairs to motors and generators.
To install, inspect and maintain communication, signaling, airport runway lightingand various other electronic systems.
Operate, maintain and test the fire alarm system.
Development of daily work plans, ordering supplies, and keeping records of timeand expense of materials for jobs and projects.

Must be able to work from ladders, scissor lifts, and bucket trucks
A thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques, tools,equipment and materials used in the electrician trade and skill in theirapplication; a strong knowledge of safety codes and practices;
Ability to read and work from electrical wiring diagrams and blueprints;ability to handle high voltage wires.
The ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
To perform related work as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Employment as a journeyperson electrician which involved interpreting complexelectrical construction wiring diagrams.
At least three years of hands on electrical experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Class A journeyperson electrician's license issued by the State of Rhode IslandBoard of Examiners of Electricians and must maintain such license as a conditionof employment.
Valid motor vehicle driver's license.
