Patient Care Representative

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia is a professional medical organization committed to the healing mission of Medicine. CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has 40 locations throughout the Philadelphia area. We are currently hiring for a full-time Patient Care Representative to work at our Center City, Philadelphia, PA office.

Please note this role is entitled to a $500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring insurance eligibility, benefit verification, and the authorization processes are completed in a timely manner
• Interact with the physician's offices, patients, and family members to obtain and verify patient demographics and insurance information when necessary.
• Specialist must maintain a strong working knowledge of insurance company's websites and requirements to obtain timely eligibility and referrals
• Analyzing patient insurance, identifying the correct insurance plan, selecting appropriately from insurance and plan selections, and documenting correct insurance
• Document accurate insurance information and authorization details to optimize reimbursement from both the payer and patient, including demographics, coordination of benefits, and insurance plan codes
• The specialist must maintain a strong working knowledge of insurance plans, contract requirements, and resources to facilitate appropriate insurance verification and authorization
• Must be able to run eligibility and secure full benefit coverage information, including COBRA and Workers Comp claims, with insurance companies
• Specialist must determine if a referral is required for insurance companies and obtain them if applicable
• Specialists must maintain accurate Referrals in patients' charts

Requirements:

• Must have experience in a medical office setting
• Must have knowledge of different insurances
• Must have the ability to multitask
• Computer knowledge is a must
• Experience with an EMR system is a plus
• Must be well spoken, friendly, and outgoing

*If you are hired, and assuming your employment is in good standing, you will receive the sign-on bonus. The bonus will be paid to you no later than 30 days following your start date. In the event that you voluntarily terminate your employment or the Company terminates your employment for cause within 6 months of your date of hire, you will be required to repay the full amount of your sign-on bonus.
