**Seeking a Full-Time School Psychologists for a wonderful district in Panaca, NV for the 2024-2025 School Year. This role will offer the School Psychologist the ability to work a hybrid model of 3 weeks remote and 1 week on-site**

 

Position Summary: The position of School Psychologist supports the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic well-being of students. They assess and address learning and behavioral issues, collaborate with educators, and help to design interventions for a positive school environment. Conducting assessments and advocating for students' mental health are key aspects of this role. Effective communication and a deep understanding of psychological principles are essential.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to: 

  • You will perform all of the duties of a school psychologist utilizing a hybrid, remote, or in-person service model. 
  • Administering and interpreting tests to evaluate intellectual, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and/or social/emotional behaviors. 
  • Observing referred students in school and conducting referral, follow-up activities, parent conferences and more. 
  • Participating in educational planning, eligibility, and/or determination of placement meetings. 
  • Participating in the development of Individual Education Programs, as needed or requested. 
  • Conducting functional behavioral assessments, and participating in manifestation determination meetings and behavioral intervention development, as needed or requested. 
  • Communicating and conferring with district/local education agency/agency personnel, parents, and students. 
  • Conferring and consulting with staff and the student to determine the student's current level of performance or developmental history. 
  • Maintaining records, writing letters, answering correspondence, and writing reports. 
  • Participating in staff development activities and/or other meetings. 
  • Reviewing, evaluating, and recommending assessment instruments. 
  • Traveling to schools or other educational-based sites. 
  • Maintaining and submitting records to Supervisor on Program operations as requested. 
  • Performing other related duties delegated by the coordinator/supervisor  
  • Adhering to policies of the district and procedures of the department and/or section. 

 

Experience/Requirements: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work under pressure. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information. 
  • Knowledge of therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. 
  • Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Responsive to requests. 
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance. 


Education/License/Certification: 

  • Masters Degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited institution of higher education. 
  • Current Active State License to practice School Psychology in the state you are looking to work within. 


Physical/Sensory Essential Functions:  

  • Ability to meet vaccination requirements of partnered school districts  
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking, some bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching and/or heavy lifting. 
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone and other equipment. 


Working Conditions:
