This position will be located at the Jackson, MS satellite office.

Distinction, LLC is a small, Mississippi-based business with oversight of the enrollment (Outreach & Admissions - OA) and placement (Career Transition Services - CTS) subcontract at the Mississippi Job Corps center in Crystal Springs, MS. We are looking for qualified applicants who are enthusiastic, energetic, and purpose-driven to fill vacant positions.

POSITION SUMMARY: Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contact with students, industry representatives, and job placement/training agencies to promote activities that lead to student placement. Develops on the job training and work experience sites to address workforce needs. Matches students' career technical skills with Job Training Match. Responsible for placement of students within assigned geographical area or technical trade area.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field; or Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensure no manipulation of student data.
  • Ensure Center and Contract meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, industry representatives, and training agencies that lead to job placement.
  • Assist clients in developing, implementing, and monitoring an employment plan that leads to self‐sufficiency.
  • Support students during job search activities and provide students with job leads.
  • Develop and administer employment workshops.
  • Plan and implement job fairs to create opportunities for unplaced former enrollees and graduates to showcase their skills and training to employers w/ vacancies.
  • Coordinate job retention activities with Career Technical Training Instructors and Career Transition team.
  • Maintain current labor market information and business developments.
  • Develop Center-beneficial linkages within the community for enrollment, education, employment, training, WBL and any/all other forms of placement.
  • Create employer partnerships that lead to direct placement for students (apprenticeships and long-term placement opportunities).
  • Identify a network of prospective local, state, and regional workforce and employer partners.
  • Engagement with state and local leaders to improve and/or expand opportunities to connect students with career pathways in infrastructure-related work opportunities.
  • Partnership development, planning, and develop sustainable partnership networks or alliances.
  • Promotes positive image of the Center and Job Corps and establish meaningful relationships with elected officials and community leaders/influencers.
  • Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies.
