Job Description

The Point Casino and Hotel is seeking an organized and efficient Accounting Clerk, with an eye for detail and accuracy to join our team. This position is entry to mid-level with room for growth and learning.

Job Summary

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, verifies accuracy of figures, calculations and postings pertaining to business revenue transactions recorded by other employees, compiles and maintains accounts payable and receivables records, and performs sales audit responsibilities by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Establishes and modifies documents and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  2. Examines revenue cash receipts, sales tickets, bank records, inventory and stock record sheets, and similar items to verify accuracy of recorded data.
  3. Prepares daily operating reports based on revenue reports from within the revenue and other accounting areas.
  4. Completes store revenue audit. Verifies drop and cash audit information, prepares daily sales reports.
  5. Computes percentages and totals and compares results with recorded entries.
  6. Ensures that all vendor bills are processed in accordance with company policy.
  7. Prepares monthly journal entries for accruals, expense and void checks.
  8. Reports cash disbursements on daily basis.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university majoring in accounting
  2. 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Previous supervisory experience in accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and payroll units preferred.
