Job Description
DIRECTOR OF LANDSCAPING
Overview:
Primary Responsibilities:
Directthe day-to-day operation of the landscape maintenance, pool and pond service for the resort and residential contracts.Determine contract rates for services to generate revenue for the company and remain competitive. Review bids for projects from contractors and determine which bid is the most cost effective while meeting the companys needs and standards.Respond and resolve homeowner/guest or employee relation issues pertaining to the department.Market services to homeowners and secure landscape, pool and pond maintenance contracts for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare annual operating budget for the department
Manage and oversee daily operations of landscaping projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Hire, train, and supervise employees to ensure that work is carried out in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
Manage and maintain equipment, supplies, and materials needed for the landscaping projects
Manage department following company policies, procedures, and terms & conditions of the CBA.
Coordinate with other departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure that the organization's landscaping projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Provide technical advice and guidance to staff and management on all aspects of landscaping, including plant selection, irrigation, and hardscape design
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Inspect Resort Grounds and other contracted areas to ensure that quality and standards of service is being met
Determine contract rates for service provided by the grounds department to insure profitability for the company and remain competitive.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with homeowners and guests, homeowner associations and guests.
Salary: $90K - $105k + Benefits
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscaping management
Pesticide Applicators License preferred
Able to read landscape blueprints
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Knowledge of hardscape design, plant selection, and irrigation systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to stand and walk most of the shift
Ability to write memos, procedures and policies
Ability to negotiate pricing with vendors
Prepare reports and make recommendations on operational change and or improvements
