Virginia International Raceway is America's Motorsport Resort. Located between Danville and South Boston, Virginia, the track opened in 1957 and closed in 1974. Reopened in 2000, it is one of America's finest and most beautiful natural terrain road courses. VIR offers a wide variety of dining experiences from the Oak Tree Tavern, Pagoda Grill, Catering, Concessions and Special Events.

 

We are searching for a Pagoda Concession Cashier Shift Lead to join us for our 2024 race season. Do you like daily change in your work life? Do you like to make people happy? Do you like making money while attending really awesome events? We have the job for you. On property we have three different food and beverage outlets. From fast paced concessions, to pub style dinner or all the way to special catered events throughout property. Servers at the track have the opportunity to work multiple shifts at multiple location. This position is entry level with the opportunity to advance.

 

Compensation | $20.00-$23.00 per hour (depending on experience) + gratuities

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Concessions Manager is responsible for the front of the house food and beverage operation at the Pagoda .The Concessions Manager is directly responsible for the experience at all the Pagoda . Must be flexible, open-minded, and adaptable to change, with strong organizational, management and time management skills. Additionally must be able to interact well with guests, members, management, and staff associates in a professional manner. The Concessions Manager will promote the core values of Taylor Hospitality, our associates, members, guests, and vendors.

Management experience in a dining / function/ sales environment is necessary. The Concessions Manager will have excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. It is necessary to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to lead associates toward service and revenue goal achievement.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to...):

  • Oversee front of the house day-to-day operations of the Pagoda Concessions.
  • The Concessions Manager will be responsible for all POS at the Pagoda. They will also be responsible for training all associates on the POS.
  • The Concessions Manager will be responsible for daily closing of the Pagoda.
  • The Concessions Manager will be responsible for all service training and implementation for the Pagoda.
  • Ensure that all service standards are implemented and delivered consistently
  • Work in conjunction with kitchen staff to maintain food costs at budget levels
  • Responsible for all front inventories.
  • Develop a weekly work schedule for all food service personnel, and manage the payroll of such staff within budgeted levels
  • Oversee purchase all beverages for the Pagoda
  • Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the Pagoda service area.
  • Inspect all banquet preparation and ensure it follows the Banquet Event Order.·
  • Lead productivity of the hospitality staff, and food and beverage teams
  • Lead by example, demonstrating high-level culture standards, self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
  • Adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards
  • Abide by all state rules and regulations
  • Attend mandatory company and/or departmental meetings and trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Part of Manager Team and responsible for Manager on Duty shifts overseeing overall hotel operations
  • Conduct site visits.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events and groups. Emulates the Taylor Hospitality Culture.


ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Operations Team to ensure flawless execution for ALL events. This includes communication of any changes/updates to events and any specific needs for a successful event based on the guests expectations
  • Schedule appropriate interdepartmental meetings for the operational aspects of coordinating event requirements.
  • Participate in the department forecasting procedure, compiling accurate and timely reports.
  • Maintain well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date files.
  • Follow up with clients to confirm proper delivery of services during their event.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested by the Property Support Manager.

  • Present a professional demeanor to clients and staff at all times, even when under pressure.
  • Maintains professional standards of dress and grooming which reflect a professional image.
  • Attend all assigned corporate training sessions and/or meeting
