JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Attendant

LOCATION: Onsite (Santa Fe and Galisteo Basin, New Mexico)

COMPANY OVERVIEW:
MEA, named by The New York Times as "the world's first midlife wisdom school," provides 5-day workshops where participants, together with a team of MEA facilitators explore topics revolving around transitions, finding purpose, and owning wisdom, under the principle that wisdom is shared, not taught. Participants spend their time over the workshop in a combination of classroom and experiential modules, in the comfort of upscale accommodations that one could expect from a luxury boutique hotel.

JOB SUMMARY:
A Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness of the property including guest rooms, public areas, back of house, and linens. Housekeeping attendants are responsible for the restock of in-room guest amenities and must ensure a thorough inventory control of these products. This role will follow the policies, standards, and guidelines established by MeA, the Department of Health, and any other applicable government agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instruction
  • Thoroughly clean guest's rooms according to Standard Operating Procedures; complete in-room checklists for each assigned room
  • Replenish guest room amenities as needed including towels, in-room water, bathroom supplies, etc.
  • Sanitize all high-touch items in guest's rooms daily
  • Notify Supervisor of any guest rooms that need to be placed out of order for maintenance concerns.
  • Report and correct any deficiencies noted in guest rooms to the appropriate individuals
  • Assist in the timely completion of all projects including mattress rotation, window washing, deep cleanings, etc.
  • Greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome
  • Possess knowledge of all guest services and amenities
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the work area
  • Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor andapply corrective measures when necessary
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks,meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property and keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Be available to fill in and assist in other areas as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the outlet as directed by the outlet manager and attend relevant meetings as directed


QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred
  • Previous guest service and/or housekeeping experience preferred


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to interpret standard operating procedures, safety, and sanitation instructions.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The person having this position may have to lift up to fifty (50) pounds daily; anything over fifty (50)pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift.
  • The person having this position may have to sit, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day.
