Mizu 21 Restaurant in Canton, CT is looking for one bartender to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and hard-working.



Position Summary

Be friendly, outgoing, and possess good communication skills as this position is responsible for ensuring guests' enjoyment. The Bartender should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to the job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Welcome each guest personally using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times
  • Make guests feel appreciated
  • Work as a team with all personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
  • Keep all areas cleaned and restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes
  • Check customer's identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • Input drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display
  • Wash and sterilize stemware
  • Count drinks guests are served and track open bar tabs
  • Anticipate guests' needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink; remain alert of guests' signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge signals
  • Learns guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks
  • Responsibly serve alcohol and remain aware of guests' state of intoxication
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications

  • Be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Possess basic reading and computer skills
  • Possess basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and familiarity with standard drink recipes
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be multi-task oriented
  • Possess knowledge of company's food and beverage specifications and workplace safety procedures
  • Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
