Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Heap Leach Supervisor, the Leach Operator (levels I and II) is responsible for all activities related to heap leach operation, including installation and removal of solution distribution lines, measurement of solution application rates and liner repairs as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform pre and post operation inspections on assigned equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain work area and equipment to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Prepare and maintain records according to job assignment.
  • Conduct maintenance and inspection of the solution distribution and leach pad liner systems.
  • Conduct solution application flow rate measurements.
  • Perform minor repairs on leaching equipment, as needed.
  • Perform job functions in accordance with company guidelines for safety and environmental compliance and general work practices and procedures.
  • Perform HCN air monitoring.
  • Conducts field level risk assessments as required by the Company and the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • 1 years’ experience in leach operation preferably in a mining environment, preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds required
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position, required,
