Job Title: Hotel Night Audit

Department: Hospitality

Reports To: Hotel General Manager

Summary:

This is a seasonal position within the Hospitality Department with mostly overnight hours with the potential of year-round employment. We provide flexible scheduling with proper notification. This individual will work as part of a team that provides superior guest service. The Hotel Night Auditor reports directly to the Hotel General Manager.

Ideal candidate availability is preferred from mid-April through mid-October. Lakeside Association provides an opportunity for affordable dorm housing in a camp environment. Candidates are physically active and high energy persons with a positive, service-minded attitude.

To perform this job successfully, this individual must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, education, skill and/or ability required.

This individual must also uphold Lakeside Association four pillars of religion, education, cultural arts, and recreation by creating a department that welcomes all people to gather and participate in lifelong learning opportunities.

Essential Duties Include, but are Not Limited To:

  • Create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.
  • Audit the shift closing of all front office staff & end of day reports.
  • Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detailed transactions and final reports to the Accounting Department.
  • Balance and audit accurate room revenue for both hotels and campground, transmit credit card batches, complete, and transmit daily management and accounting reports with supporting documentation.
  • Perform check-in and check-out tasks for hotel guests.
  • Make reservations for the Fountain Inn & Hotel Lakeside.
  • Utilize and maximize computer skills, showing proficiency in the RoomMaster hotel operating program.
  • Approach every guest in a friendly way, taking care of all their needs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process credit cards, checks, and cash payments as needed.
  • Prepare appropriate written reports at the beginning and end of each shift, prepare and deposit cash taken in during the shift.
  • Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a clean, organized working environment including: lobby, office areas, desks, and public restrooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High school graduate with the ability to work with the public and other employees. Guest service experience in a retail-type or hospitality environment is preferred. Some knowledge of basic accounting and spreadsheets is helpful.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with guests and co-workers.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, stand, walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop or kneel; talk, hear, and smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to (50) fifty pounds. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move more than fifty (50) pounds.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet, cold, humid, and hot conditions.
  • There is occasionally the requirement to move mechanical parts, properly handle toxic or caustic chemicals; there can be a risk of electrical hazards and the employee must use extreme caution and use appropriate safety procedures when necessary.
