1st shift, Shipping & Receiving Lead $22/hr Piedmont (Contract to hire)

This facility is located in Piedmont not far from Greenville, Easley, Belton, & Powdersville.

Basic requirements

· STRONG SAP SKILLS REQUIRED (experience in coordination of all the shipping and receiving activities)

· STRONG COMPUTER SKILLS & FORKLIFT OPERATING EXPERIENCE

· 3+ Years of Shipping and receiving experience
2+ years of leadership in a warehouse or production environment (manufacturing experience needed)

  • (Must be able to pass a national criminal background check & drug test to be considered)
  • Reliable transportation and steel-toed shoes/or boots are required.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • The candidate selected must be dependable, reliable, detail-oriented with good organizational skills as well as have self-initiative.

Starting pay: $22/hr

Schedule: Typically, Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00 pm (weekends and overtime as needed - Must be flexible to work Saturdays)

Strict attendance policy - Please only apply if you have reliable transportation and are dependable by nature. Note: You MUST have valid DL, own a reliable vehicle, and stable job history to be considered. A drug test and national criminal background are required.

  • Manages the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the Warehouse Manager, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.
  • Tracks, traces and updates the status of outgoing shipments.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
  • Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, taking inventory, and counting accurately.
  • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
  • Responsible for Picking, Packing, and organizing orders.
  • Responsible for UPS/FEDEX Shipments incoming and outgoing

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to be able to stand on feet for at least 8 hours/day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Excellent attendance record and punctuality
  • Position requires High School/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of USPS regulations

Responsibilities Continued:

· Communicating skills needed for interaction with client and staff;

· Ensure all outbound mail is properly recorded, and all required documents are in order;

· Responsible for providing value add and cost saves to our client;

· Ensure that the team delivers all incoming mail and shipments within our service level agreements;

· Cross-training and backup of other employees in the event of emergency or contingency situations;

· Oversee and perform process of receiving, sorting, and distribution of incoming mail to appropriate departments and recipients;

· Management of a medium sized team of about 5 associates to ensure they deliver exceptional service in shipping & receiving and mail operations;

· Responsible for submitting timely reports each month;

· Manage all HR aspects of the staff including recruiting, performance management and conducting performance reviews;

· Promote a clean and safe working environment through adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety rules;

· Receive, count and verify all incoming parcels, freight, etc;

· After delivering all packages, make timely collections for outgoing packages and U.S.P.S mail to be metered via postage machine;

· Responsible to maintaining the chain of custody with accountable mail and all other mail;

· Monitor and inform management of operational deficiencies and potential problems;

· Ensure that all outbound mail and shipments are properly packaged and shipped in time to meet client expectations and our service level agreements.

Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or similar environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of forklift operations
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and processes
- Proficiency in order picking and using equipment such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, and lift trucks
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory control purposes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

· Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

· Work Location: In person
