Schaffhouser, a Veteran owned Industrial Electrical Contractor, is seeking a career-minded, proficient Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician who is passionate, driven, and highly motivated, who will be working for our Local Kentucky Division.

As a Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician, you would be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. Additionally, you would be responsible for conducting tests and inspections of electrical systems and equipment and troubleshooting in a variety of work areas while paying close attention to all aspects of safety.

Exceptional technical & problem-solving skills are important for journeymen to identify electrical issues and proceed with prompt repairs. Working in a team setting and completing objectives within a given time frame is a must. Efficient conduit bending skills using mechanical, electric, and hydraulic benders, and other conduit bending methods, are necessary. Other tasks may include analyzing circuits to determine functionality, changing switches and generators, using multi-testers, and fixing A/C and D/C systems.

We Need Your Expertise!

Minimum Requirements:

· 10,000 hours of work experience in a commercial and/or industrial setting or completion of a nationally recognized apprenticeship program.

· Reliable transportation.

· Must supply own hand tools.

· Kentucky Journeyman or Master Electricians license is a plus but not required

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Perform all work in a safe and workmanlike manner.

· Participate in daily safe work plans and weekly safety meetings.

· Install all work in a manner that emphasizes safety first, quality second, while maintaining productivity standards.

· Install all electrical materials in a manner that minimizes waste.

· Install conduit from the ground, ladders, and or Mobile Elevated Work Platforms. Conduit types include Galvanized Rigid Conduit, Aluminum Rigid Conduit, Intermediate Metal Conduit, Electrical Metallic Tubing and Polyvinyl Chloride Conduit.

· Install and terminate electrical conductors for power and controls ranging from 20awg to 750kcmil.

· Install electrical panelboards, switchgear, lighting, disconnects etc.

· Troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems including feeders and branch circuits.

· Train and mentor subordinate journeymen and apprentice electricians.

· Accurately report time worked.
