Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. Oversees job performance and quality of work performed in a multi-craft environment involved in all facets of the technical field. Trains employees regarding procedures and safety. Manages the Maintenance Department by supervising daily work and schedules, as well as capital projects and Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all department safety practices are followed.
  • Coordinates and supports Maximo system.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment.
  • Provides leadership and direction for subordinates; analyzes and resolves work problems, initiates plans to motivate team to meet goals, enforces safety regulations, coaches and hands-on training, and promotes an overall positive environment.
  • Oversees job performance and quality of work performed in a multi-craft environment involved in all facets of the technical field; quality checks, suggest changes to increase efficiency.
  • Manages a vendor base to ensure quality product availability while minimizing costs and maintaining the highest of service levels to the plant.
  • Provides technical support and training to maintenance and manufacturing personnel at other facilities.
  • Supervises storeroom and procures plant supplies.
  • Researches and executes capital appropriation expenditures.
  • Manages procurement activity of repair and maintenance goods and services.
  • Reconciles invoice discrepancies and approves for payment.
  • Works daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working with risk lowered to as low as reasonably achievable.
  • Performs activities of subordinates and other assigned duties.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising maintenance employees in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience with PLCs a MUST; Siemens or Allen Bradley.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Broad technical training (high school plus 1 to 3 years’ apprenticeship/applied trades training or 2-year Associate Degree).
  • Steel-toe shoes/boots required.
  • Must be able to work Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm (facility runs 24/7 and requires to work outside of those hours, when needed).
