Responsibilities:

Director of Accounting

 

A desirable opportunity exists for a highly accomplished professional to handle all operational accounting activities for the community leading up to and including the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with all accounting policies and procedures. Assures conformity with GAAP and compliance with established internal controls. Ensures community compliance with Medicare/Medicaid accounting procedures and regulations. Prepares and submits both internal and external reports. 

Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive general accounting experience with balance sheet management, including financial statement preparation and supervisory responsibility.  Real Estate, Senior Living and/or healthcare experience is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP and hands-on experience with automated accounting systems is required. A working knowledge of healthcare operations and Medicare reimbursement practices is a plus. 

 

Additional requirements include:
 
*Established track record assessing financial opportunities, developing and implementing strategies, monitoring performance and taking responsibility for results.


*Ability to evaluate financial results utilizing key ratios and benchmarks in order to identify operational performance issues.

 

*Must have outstanding communication skills, problem solving skills and ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments, residents, family members and employees in a team-oriented environment.

 

*Proficient in Microsoft Office and employee payroll software; familiarity with ADP, JD Edwards and Achieve Matrix a plus.

 

*Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults and enjoy working with a senior population.

*Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting is required; MBA is preferred

 

*CPA license is preferred 

Pay Range: USD $138,055.00 - USD $179,478.00 /Yr.
