Responsibilities

Job Purpose

To use your unique talents, experience, skills, education, and initiative to assisting in leading the Operations team and to recognize that your contribution is essential to the vision of EZflow and Infiltrator Water Technologies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Train and direct the activities of production personnel in the areas of Safety.

  • Ensure that all employees are properly trained in safe operation of production equipment, and that all safety rules are enforced.
  • Ensure that all production personnel report and/or correct unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor employee behavior regarding safe work performance.
  • Utilize the Green Cross to facilitate continuous improvement dialogue regarding Safety, investigate safety incidents through re-enactments, and ensure all Safety knowledge sharing is taught and documented.
  • Ensure Lock out / Tag out procedures are followed.
  • Ensure that all employees have and properly use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Participate in safety committee’s where applicable.

2. Responsible for always meeting IWT’s Quality Policy and Standards – World Class People Producing World Class Products.

  • Ensure all production personnel are properly trained to IWT’s quality standards through the use of the Quality Plan and ensure all customers receive product that meets or exceeds customer standards and expectations.
  • Ensure all quality measurements are properly recorded at the scheduled intervals.
  • Ensure all raw material lot numbers are properly obtained and recorded.
  • Evaluate Rework, Scrap, and other wastes to the operation and resolve through root cause corrective actions.

3. Promote Teamwork throughout the plant.

  • Supervise the activities of Lead Operators and general production labor.
  • Work in conjunction with the onsite team, satellite resources, contractors, production schedules, etc.
  • Foster an environment that solicits feedback, input, and buy in from all team members.

4. Coordinate with other shift Supervisors, Logistics Coordinators, and Plant Managers to ensure that all safety, daily production goals, and quality standards are being met.

  • Schedule production to meet customer demand and safety stock requirements.

5. Schedule and facilitate daily production meetings utilizing Lean Cube and promoting Continuous Improvement using established metrics, operator, and shift data, etc.

6. The Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of employee calendars, documentation of attendance or performance corrective actions, counseling, vacation scheduling and appropriate staffing to meet production needs within budget limits. Measure and identify opportunities to reduce employee turnover.

7. Train and direct the activities of production personnel in the areas of equipment operation, quality control requirements, standards and procedures, and recognition of material which should be reworked or scrapped.

  • Maintain training documentation.

8. Monitor machine efficiency records / tally sheets, analyze, and assist in determining problems when efficiency rate is below standard.

  • Track OEE, changeovers, downtime, scrap records, rejects, and plan adequate corrective actions for improvements.
  • Proactive in addressing inefficiencies.
  • Schedule product change-over to minimize down-time and loss of productivity.

9. Monitor general labor including Full Time and Temporary Labor, OT, and overall labor metrics pursuing the Corporate Goal of being the Low-Cost Producer.

10. Prepare and maintain necessary production records, machine efficiency records, scrap reports, and other reports as required.

11. Ensure all 6S tasks are performed daily, weekly, monthly and are continuously improved toward a world class operations facility.

12. Experience with a MRP system, Logistics, and have general freight industry knowledge.

13. Operate and trouble shoot manufacturing equipment including Automation (Robotics, AGV’s, AMR’s. PLC, Pneumatics, Electrical, and data management).

14. Operate and trouble shoot manufacturing equipment including EZflow bead expansion, hydraulics, thermodynamics, welding, etc. Work with the Plant Manager or maintenance technician to ensure proper PM’s and maintenance activities are being executed on all equipment.

15. Support physical inventory (raw materials and finished goods), ordering and receiving, general MRP entries, and demonstrate general business acumen.

16. May perform the duties of a Plant Manager and / or Logistics Coordinator as required.

Key Job Performance Measures

  • Utilizing the Green Cross and Continuous Improvement to manage employee Safety and IR.
  • Dry Bead Density in Specification
  • Safety, Quality Claims, Direct Labor Efficiency, Direct Labor Cost / sq. ft, Truck Loads, and Linear Footage
  • Monitor and report full and temporary labor, OT, weekly metrics.
  • Track employee turnover, facilitate exit interviews and separation process, and document action plans with HR.

Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications

Our Production Supervisor must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, supervision, or management in a manufacturing or other high paced / customer focused environment. He/she must have the ability to provide technical guidance through experience and industry knowledge. He/she should possess strong people skills, leadership qualities, managerial abilities, a sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation, and the desire and focus to improve the business. Our candidate must be able to communicate effectively through written, oral, or other technology platforms, and understand English. Our candidate must possess an eagerness to create, maintain, and raise expectations toward a world class manufacturing facility.
