Summary:
Plans, supervises, and maintains all production processes, equipment, employees, safety. Responsible for meeting production timing, quality, and quantity standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise full time and temporary employees
- Investigate the root cause and implement countermeasures for all QPRs
- Ensure all machines are operational and ready for production
- In the event of employee absence (i.e. vacation) coordinate manpower to ensure needs are met
- In the event production is falling behind schedule, draft and implement a recovery plan
- In the event of an abnormal event, take immediate action, including fix/repair and report to manager
- Ensure implementation of 5S throughout area of responsibility
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring all safety guidelines are followed and being aware of impending hazards
- Be a superior role model for all associates (i.e. attendance)
- Report problems to the Production Manager as soon as possible
- Ensure that quality check sheets are completed by the line leader
- Check the first and the last part ran - daily
- Monitor and enforce Line Patrol Check Points
- Make sure new temporaries and employees are trained
- Check daily production #s, quality problems, equipment failures and occupational injury at the daily meeting and indicate apropriate corrective actions to manager.
- Direct and check line leader's daily job and take corrective action if necessary.
- Performance evaluations and resolve departmental issues.
- Manage monthly and daily overtime.
- Reduce any potential occupational hazards.
- Other duties as directed
Skills Required:
Five (5) years manufacturing/production in stamping and parts assembly. Additional Welding and Plastic Molding skills, helpful. Three (3) years supervisor experience, required.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles/techniques/processes/mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/production control/quality control
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- TPS knowledge
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
