Avera is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for direct patient care and supervising the care provided by other professional personnel. 
  • Assist manager in overall management of the unit.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.  
  • Two to three years of subspecialty care experience required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.  
  • Certified in specialty area of nursing practice required within 12 months of hire.

 

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, Primarily days with possible evening/ night/ weekend involvement; 80hrs/2wks
