Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Manage the general ledger and conduct monthly and yearly closings.
3. Perform cost accounting tasks to determine the costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
4. Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants.
5. Ensure compliance with all internal processes and relevant regulations and ensure all accounting activities align with the financial laws and regulations.
6. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
7. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
8. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
9. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
10. Work closely with financial management team to streamline processes and improve financial health of the organization.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field.
3. Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Experience with cost accounting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to direct and supervise.
8. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
10. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees and management.
