Freight Audit Specialist

Robert Half is seeking an individual to fill the role of an Accounting Clerk for an esteemed organization in the logistics industry. In this position as an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). Your responsibilities in this role

- Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

- Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

- Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

- Report financial facts to journals and ledgers

- Organize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, process daily invoices/credit, and help with collection of past due balance

- Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel

- Coding and reviewing invoices experience

- Command of EDI

- Freight carrier/logistics experience desired

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

- Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
