Myriad Urology is seeking a Director of Sales to lead sales team, strategy, and tactics to improve market penetration and achieve volume and revenue growth across the Urology portfolio. The Director of Sales will lead a team of Area Sales Managers and Strategic Accounts Managers. The team's mission is to drive Prolaris , hereditary cancer, and companion diagnostics testing business through Urology and Radiation Oncology specialties and across large IDNs, healthcare, and hospital systems to maximize growth. Our suite of products delivers the power of genetic insights to help inform healthcare decisions of prostate cancer patients and their healthcare providers. The Director of Sales will report to the President and General Manager of the Urology Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Planning
    • Manages P&L including the development and execution of sales plans, forecasts, and operational budget ensuring effective utilization of resources.
    • Develops strategies and tactics in collaboration with product and marketing teams to drive optimal financial return and growth.
    • Monitors and analyzes sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
    • Collaborates with Commercial Operations and other sales enablement partners to assess sales performance, market trends, competitor activities; leverage data to determine appropriate adjustments and resource deployment plans to meet or exceed objectives.
    • Collaborates with executive team to set annual sales targets and budgets; presents sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to executive team, identify actionable insights, and deliver strategic plans to execute.
  • Team Leadership
    • Recruits, trains, and manages a skilled sales team, providing mentorship and guidance.
    • Proactively identifies best candidates and ensures diverse backgrounds are represented.
    • Builds and fosters a collaborative, results-oriented, winning team culture.
    • Conducts regular performance evaluations and implement development plans for team members.
    • Sets objectives, coaches/mentors, assesses performance, and identifies skill development for direct reports.
    • Partners with sales training and enablement teams to drive continued education on products, sales, and digital health tools.
  • Market Development
    • Drives and supports the building and maintaining of strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Understands customer needs and collaborates with the product development team to drive the alignment of products/services with market demand.
    • Identifies and empowers team to pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements.
    • Attends industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company's products and services.
    • Partners with Managed Care / Payer Market leaders to ensure pull through of managed care strategies with customers.
    • Collaborates with Medical Affairs team to maximize clinical-focused sales and programs.
    • Participates on multi-disciplinary teams to provide perspective on cross functional and sales related issues.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' sales experience in biotechnology or molecular testing preferred; or, pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of area/regional sales managers and 5+ years of field sales management experience required.
  • Proven ability to produce strong results in challenging markets.
  • Demonstrated leadership, financial management, and communications skills.
  • Thorough understanding of customer segments and market dynamics within Urology and genomic testing
  • Ability to lead and manage field sales leaders.
  • Experience building teams and multiple product launches.
  • Experience managing and improving performance through coaching, mentoring, and developing.
  • Demonstrated presentation and negotiations skills.
  • Experience with responsibility for multiple products.
  • Proven ability to select, develop and promote talented individuals.
  • Effective at overcoming obstacles and challenges utilizing problem solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of coverage and reimbursement issues.
  • Working knowledge and application of HIPAA laws, privacy, and ethics surrounding patientprivacy and information.
  • Demonstrates values and ethics that support Myriad's mission, goals, and professional code of conduct.
  • Ability to resist pressure to compromise corporate values despite pressure to make sales.
  • Uses discretion and professionalism as it relates to handling patient and physician information and documentation.
  • Track record of demonstrating integrity, even when inconvenient.
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and self-motivated.
  • Systems and Software - proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and CRM, preferably Salesforce
  • Ability to travel and do overnights as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets safe and satisfactory criteria per Myriad's motor vehicle driving record policy.
