Work Arrangement:

HYBRID: Qualified candidates (in or near hub locations listed below) should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment.

Hybrid work arrangement for Enterprise Technology is defined as residing with a 180 mile radius of the Hubs and Corporate.

HUB LOCATIONS: Dunwoody, GA; Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ; or Bloomington, IL

Incumbency: This position will have a 12-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Para-professional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.

Join the Recovery and Continuity Empowering Resiliency Suite (RACERS) winning team and help create and execute an Enterprise future state recovery strategy that guides recovery efforts and solution enablement.

This lead infrastructure engineer will be responsible for automating cyber resiliency and recovery methods in cloud and on-premises infrastructure with the goal of creating expertise and best practices for resiliency recovery and availability for all platforms including Cloud and SaaS. This will require collaborating with the development community, product and platform owners and vendors to ensure resiliency and recovery needs are met. RACERS envision a future where the enterprise has unwavering confidence in our ability to navigate any disruption seamlessly.



Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following skills/experiences:

Required Skills:

  • Experience in any programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
  • Experience with developing solutions on AWS or other distributed compute platforms
  • Experience in CI/CD: (ex: Gitlab)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g.: Terraform, Cloud Formation)
  • Ability to conduct research and integrate industry best practices into processes and potential solutions
  • Strong understanding of large enterprise systems and engineering practices
  • Critical thinking skills to challenge current thinking and apply right technology to solve problems
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and languages
  • The passion to advocate and educate others
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS (Lamdas, DynamoDB, S3, OpenSearch, QuickSight, API Gateway, Route53, etc.) JavaScript (ex: Ember, ReactJS, NodeJS)
  • Experience with Credential Management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, etc.)
  • Experience with Logging, Tracing, and Reporting (Splunk, Dynatrace, AWS Cloud Watch, etc.
  • Experience with API development and usage
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
