About this job

We are seeking a Test Pilot for our newly created aircraft, you will lead efforts of for test planning, test hazard analysis, and development of flight test vehicles. You will be also be responsible for developing and maintaining the concept of operations for our advanced air mobility vehicle.


Duties:


  • Ensuring the safe operation of test vehicles both onboard and remotely piloted.
  • Developing and publishing detailed test plans for flight and ground test events.
  • Coordinating reviews and test planning with flight test engineers.
  • Providing laboratory support for the R&D integration testing (piloted simulations).
  • Interfacing with test article design teams to define test configurations and data requirements. Generating test safety hazard analyses and conducting safety review boards.
  • Generating flight summary reports.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to in order to remain compliant with company and FAA policies.
  • Other duties as directed.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years flight test experience
  • Experience with remote pilot operations
  • Experience in Type Certification programs for fixed/rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Capable of obtaining the required level of FAA medical certificate
  • FAA Commercial Pilot or ATP certificate (Fixed or Rotary Wing)
  • Strong exposure to and appreciation of appropriate Risk Management and Hazard Assessment in the operational, experimental, and certification environments.
  • A demonstrated capability to work within the engineering organization to inform vehicle design early.
  • Have been heavily involved in the development of aircraft certification basis.
  • Exceptional communication skills


A Plus:


  • Graduate of an SETP recognized Test Pilot School, or equivalent experience
  • Unmanned aircraft flight test experience
  • Electric Propulsion flight test experience
  • Both Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing pilot certificates and flight test experience in both areas Human-to-vehicle interface design, test and evaluation experience
  • Instructor pilot certificate and experience
  • Understanding of Part 135 operations and the developing concepts around Advanced/Urban Air Mobility operations
  • Experience conducting tests on programs pursuing FAA/TCCA/EASA Certification
