Job Description
The Cashier position entails providing excellent customer service while achieving company expectations. In addition to these skills, we want our Cashiers to be trendsetters for our work environment. A Cashier’s primary role is to handle all sales transactions including monetary exchange. Keep checkout areas clean, well-stocked, and organized. They will verify all credit card transactions to ensure the proper person is using the proper card. They are also responsible for counting the contents of the cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records, and withdrawals. May be responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low. Cashiers will be cross-trained on greeting, stocking, and cleaning. Responsibilities of the Cashier:
• Handle cash, credit, or check transactions with customers
• Scan goods and collect payments
• Ensure pricing is correct
• Issue change, receipts, exchanges
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
• Bag items carefully
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the establishment
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Keep reports of transactions
• Answer customers' questions and get a supervisor if the answer does not solve the issue
• Bag, box, or wrap packages
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
