Job Description
As a Forklift Driver, you will load, transfer, store, and stage any finished product in the Bottling Department. Supply bottling with any supplies needed such as bins, barrels, lids, caps, glass bottles, and cherries; works closely with both the Bottling Lead & Supervisor on production matters.
Pay Rate: $18.60 per hour on shift 1 (day shift) plus an additional $.25 per hour for each hour of work on the shift 2 (swing shift). Full-time/40 hours per week with some weekend and overtime hours required when needed. Shift 1 is typically 7:00am - 3:30pm but could be extended without notice. Hours are subject to vary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Transfer glass, barrels, caps, and cherries to and from the Bottling Department for preparation in production.
- Maintain a Lift Truck Log to ensure accurate records.
- Haul away any empty drums or barrels.
- Follow production schedule as assigned by Production Manager or Lead-Front Side.
- Maintain a clean, organized and hazard free work environment.
- Monitor and report packaging supplies necessary to keep Bottling running. Inform Backside Lead & Supervisor of any packaging needs daily to ensure adequate lead time for scheduled production supplies.
- Ability to generate product labels utilizing company computerized inventory system.
- Maintain green sheets by verifying lot codes & product quantity.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Production Manager or Lead-Front Side
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a certified forklift driver.
- Physically capable of performing all job duties.
- Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for intricate machinery.
- Demonstrate ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and safety rules.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Able to multi-task and organize workload while maintaining accurate records.
- Must be able to work overtime, swing shift or weekends as needed.
- Utilize communication skills to interact with colleagues and internal customers.
- Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
Physical Requirements: Frequent physical activity includes walking, standing, twisting, reaching, gripping with hands and fingers, lifting up to 50 pounds, and hearing; close and far vision. Moderate physical activity includes bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and climbing.
Environmental Factors: Working conditions include exposure to plant temperature extremes, dampness, humidity, fumes, and high noise levels. Work requires wearing proper protective equipment. Incumbent may work with rotating machinery and in a crowded area.
